Ecclesiastes 4:9.
Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.

Thank you, Heavenly Father for the for the way that you’ve created our need for companionship. Thank you for the way that you intervene between two people and cause them to feel fellowship. Thank you so much for your goodness. Father, often our marriages are not described by the verses above. Our marriages are not according to your plan. We don’t lift up each other. We don’t help each other. Often times are relationships are do not seek the others good. Teach us to rely on each other in community and in our families.

I lift up especially the marriages of Sun Grove. Surround them and protect them. Give strength to share needs with each other. Teach husbands and wives to trust each other and care for their needs.

For the strong marriages: Lord – I ask that you make them stronger. Give them wisdom to each person to grow lift up the one that is in need. Open their hearts to see what they can do to strengthen their companionship.

For the weak and hurting marriages, Lord – I ask that you heal them. Heal hurt hearts. Heal broken trusts. Teach forgiveness – especially to themselves. Help the hurting to know how you forgave them first. Open husband and wives hearts to each other.

You are the Designer, the upholder, the healer. Help us walk in your ways!
Amen
