Proverbs 2:1-9
My son, if you will receive my words
And treasure my commandments within you,
Make your ear attentive to wisdom,
Incline your heart to understanding;
For if you cry for discernment,
Lift your voice for understanding;
If you seek her as silver
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will discern the fear of the LORD
And discover the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
Guarding the paths of justice,
And He preserves the way of His godly ones.
Then you will discern righteousness and justice
And equity and every good course.
Thank you, Father for the wisdom that you give us. Thank you for your knowledge and understanding. We cry for discernment. Remove dull ears and hearts from us and replace it with a willing heart, eyes and ears that pay attention to you!
Teach us to seek you and the hidden treasures of wisdom. Teach us to fear you. You are the creator of the universe, the wise true God. You are the all powerful one. Preserve us and guard our paths so that we live in justice.
Lord, I ask for wisdom specifically regarding the church property versus the already built building. You know the needs of the future. You know the church size that we need, you know about storage and parking. Help us not to underestimate your power. Help us to be open to where you want us to be – regardless of what it takes to get there.
You are amazing and you will provide above anything that we could imagine! Help us to see the right path.
Help us not to get ahead of you and your plans. Help us not be timid and ignore your gifts either.
Lord, I lift up Phil and the elder board as they grapple with the directions that the church needs to go in. Give us unity with them and a peace knowing that we are in your hands.
Be with the capital campaign that we can raise enough money for what you want us to do. Give us generous hearts and a passion knowing that you will bless SG and move us in the right direction.
Thank you for the wisdom promised. Open us to the truths in your word.
